Michael
Whittemore's weekly work load would be daunting for anyone. Writing
15-20 radio commercials for clients, plus producing numerous music and
message-on-hold presentations, and crafting proposals for new and
existing clients fills Mike's days and evenings. Yet he knew there had
to be a way to get more done in less time.
He got a glimpse of
a new approach a few months ago, when he saw Dragon Naturally Speaking
demonstrated. He was intrigued, but at the time his computer was too
old and too slow to effectively run the software, so he held off making
the switch. But at the beginning of this month, just a couple of weeks
ago, the purchase of a new computer with a faster processor brought
with it the opportunity to try out speech recognition software.
After
being trained by Achieve Results, Mike was amazed at "how I was able to
jump in and get as much done as I have after such a short lesson." "I
know I couldn't have figured out how to use it on my own," he says.
In
addition to feeling like it's already saving him time, Mike says it
also seems much easier to use, so he procrastinates less; "the task
feels less tedious." So instead of putting off work to-be-done, as he
would have before, Mike is now much more likely to pick up his headset
and get going.
Improved productivity is the main reason behind
his switch to speech recognition, Mike explains, but there is a bottom
line benefit because the more commercials he can produce, the more
money he earns. For Mike, Dragon provides "an opportunity to get more
done and grow my income."
After using Dragon for less than two
weeks, Mike boldly states, "If you're doing anything on a computer,
there is no reason not to use speech recognition."
